Ruined a stage performance at school cus of stage fright

r/

Today , I really f-ed up a stage performance at school because of stage fright I wasn’t aware I had .

To give context ,
I had a 2 paragraph special performance to read off of a script I had already prepared, in my own 1st language at that , Hindi at the school assembly.

It was not my first time performing at a stage , just Yesterday, I performed my part in the English.
I even performed to represent my whole school in a Youth Parliament session in another school auditorium.

In both these instances, I did not feel any sort of stage fright at all intact I was confident.

But when it came to just say a few lines in my own language at my own school. I couldn’t.
I was sweating, my voice was was caught in my throat, I became dazed while reading 2 paragraph. I paused so many times * sigh *
I could hear my self breathing heavily on the mic / speaker

I somehow ended the “speah”.And after,
My Geography teacher had to stop me and ask WHy I was fumbling

Now I am caught in guild , I discovered I have stage fright and I am afraid of the judging eyes I would see tomorrow in class .
I really performed the worst today ….I am thinking of talikng about this to my teacher tho .
So what should I do to have my confidence again??

That is not fun and I’ve definitely been there, but honestly I don’t think there is anything you need to do about it. Unless you’re performing this again or your performance specifically ruined something that you feel the need to apologize for (which I don’t think is the case), I think the best thing is to commit this experience to memory as a learning moment, reflect a little bit, and then set is aside. Yeah, people might talk a little bit, but it won’t last long and it won’t be as bad as you think. Laugh it off, be humble and good natured about it, and people will forget. Latching on to how “poorly” you did is only going to prolong your suffering, and since there’s nothing to do about it now there’s no use in fretting. If you really wanted to talk to your teacher about how to improve for next time you could, but make sure you’re looking forward, not just scrutinizing yourself and what you did in the past. Everything is okay, you’re great, and you’ll feel better soon ♡ cut yourself some slack! (Sincerely, a chronic perfectionist overthinker.)
