I think if you respond to someone arguing against what you say by saying, “You’re proving my point,” without giving any context as to why you think how they respond proves your point then it makes it look like in practice you’re closed minded and unwilling to change your mind. It basically makes it seem like no one can point out any flaws in your position without you thinking that they‘re arguing against your position proves it right. If no one ever argues against your position then it’s also going to be hard to recognize it if there are flaws in your position, and it’s unreasonable to expect that no one would try to argue against your position if it’s wrong.
Now if the reason you think others are proving your point is more nuanced then just them arguing against your position and comes down to things like how they say what they say that may be valid, and in some cases may add support to your position but usually it doesn’t add support to your position as even if the person your arguing with is mean that usually doesn’t prove your position. If it is based on more context like how the person you argue against is saying what they‘re saying then I think you should talk about that context instead of expecting others to just know it so that you don’t make yourself look closed minded.
