Sedgwick

Hello everyone, hoping for some advice.
Location: California

I am currently on maternity leave. A Sedgwick manager called me a few weeks ago and informed me that the current claim I’m on is not supposed to be approved. She said that whoever processed my claim made a mistake and they need to fix this. In order to fix it, they will move my claim to short term disability and then process the rest as my regular 16 weeks of maternity leave. However, in doing this – they are saying that I now owe them money since I have been overpaid. According to their calculations, I will owe back $7,000.

I followed everything they instructed each time I called and was approved for everything. However since they just found this mistake, they want to fix it their way and ensure they get their money back. What should I do? This is a lot of money and I wouldn’t haven’t gone out this long if I knew that it wouldn’t be paid.
