Yes, I know this is selfish. Yes, I know this would be expensive. But this is unpopular opinion.
I cannot stand how often the snail-paced acceleration of semis fucks up traffic. From getting onto the highway at 45, to taking forever at a green light, big rigs constantly make driving worse for everyone around them because they can’t get fucking moving.
Mandating better acceleration would make life better for everyone around such vehicles and for the truckers themselves. The only people it would hurt would be the corporations that have to take the hit to spend the money to make their slow-ass vehicles better.

Terrible opinion. 10/10.
Please tell this to carb and the epa so they can stop regulating performance modifications
Tell me you don’t understand economy of fuel or physics without telling me.
Or anything larger than a sedan should have a slow traffic lane with their own speed limit for large, bulk-carrying vehicles so that way they don’t lose control and crash while carrying large bulk loads like they are supposed to be used for.
It’s less their ability to accelerate and more the realities of potentially having to decelerate suddenly that you should worry about
Doesn’t help when fucked up cities like Colorado Springs shortens the onramps even more with asinine metering lights, forcing semis and big trucks to stop whatever momentum the had from the top of the onramp.
Not only unpopular but extremely stupid as well.

Let me make OP’s life easier, give us semi drivers our own lanes that car traffic cannot use. Will make everyone’s driving experience better.
There is a reason they don’t move faster. And even if they were able to, there are like 12 gears to go through that would probably still prevent this. It takes time to shift through all that. We don’t need 80,000 pounds of freight accelerating as fast as a car can.
