As the title says, I(26F) just wanted to get it out somewhere that I send nude pics/vids or even vid chat random guys that message me on a dating app. This definitely stems from me being so alone that I find attention where I can and when I do get that attention I do whatever, even if it’s out of my comfort zone, just to keep that attention.
Sucks though, because I want something permanent and to make a real connection with someone but I can’t seem to find that, although probably a dating app isn’t the best place to do that and definitely not one that I have put at a far far away location from where I’m at so there’s less possibility of meeting/getting to know in person.
I’m definitely terrified of being alone so I cling so hard to anything that gives me a bit of hope or feeling that I am not, granted I know getting attention this way isn’t gonna get me anywhere to getting that fixed. Hell, probably the opposite of that, I had an instance wherein this guy suddenly stopped messaging/asking for pics/videos and I tried to off myself because of that. I’ve gotten a bit better though at keeping that impulse at bay when I suddenly get ghosted but now I feel like a damn empty shell.
Well, such is life and emotions are a b.

Maybe I’m just from a different generation but I get the feeling that by putting it all out there so quickly the perception of you changes in the mind of your potential suitor… I know this sounds archaic and psycho-babblish… the external validation you’re getting isn’t a long term thing… it’s like eating a jolly rancher vs a peach… anywho, keep your head up, right person might be round the corner…
Take some time off the dating app. Finding groups for your hobbies is a good way to find someone with a common interest. It sounds like you’re really struggling and I wish you the best of luck. Also, please go to therapy.

to me, when someone is super willing to just put it all out there within a few hours or days i immediately feel that why won’t make a good partner. You can find the attention you seek without giving up those intimate parts of yourself so quickly! don’t try to find someone and settle out of desperation, you’ll find the right one 🙂
