Hello all, my mother was interested finding some retirement living. She put in an application and they said they would call when they have housing available. They called her and asked for an initial security deposit which she gave them via money order back in March. It is now early July and they have yet to find an apartment for her so I’m wondering if this is even legal and what steps to take next. I was planning on going up there today to talk to them about what’s going on cause I feel like they may be taking advantage of her because she’s not great at advocating for herself in these kinds of matters. Just need some advice before I go in the office and discuss things with the building management/landlord
