Hello! Curious if someone could give me suggestions on a final settlement that would be reasonable , we are working on for my son. He was 13 at the time, was hit by a car dealership courtesy driver while he was riding his bike, they then took off and left the scene until the dealership made them return.
My son was lucky, however had some lasting impacts. He received whiplash, and experiences some pain in his leg (he was sent up and over the car hood and his bike was ran over) he still to this day doesn’t feel comfortable riding his bike and gets anxious from it. He also had to be on high alert during the first few weeks due to complications from his Type 1 diabetes causing high blood sugars.
While he doesn’t need to go to many physical therapy visits, he still can’t make it through a whole season of running sports (xcountry or track) without now needing to stop and be evaluated by the school’s physical trainer multiple times each season.
The insurance company says they’d like to put together an offer but wasn’t sure what might be a good accepting starting point as any funds will be for his future college.
