So here’s what happened:
My friend told me he wanted to fix his teeth, and I suggested he go to my dad’s clinic. I told him he didn’t need an appointment because the clinic usually accepts walk-ins. Before he went, I even informed my dad that my friend would be coming that day
My friend went, but my dad forgot he was coming. So my friend ended up waiting for around two and a half hours with the rest of the regular patients. Eventually, when it was finally his turn, my dad told him he couldn’t do the treatment right away because he needed dental x-rays first. Since it was already late, my dad told him to go get the x-rays done and come back tomorrow for the actual treatment
So basically, my friend wasted 2.5 hours waiting, didn’t get treated, and was told to come back the next day after getting an x-ray done
Should apologize to my friend for this?

Yeah, you should. Even if it wasn’t your fault directly, you did vouch for the experience and it didn’t go as promised. A simple “Sorry for the hassle, I really thought it’d go smoother” goes a long way.
Yes a simple “Hey, I’m really sorry you wasted so much time. I should’ve made sure everything was set up better” goes a long way. It shows you care about his time and makes you a good friend
Yes you should apologize his time got wasted because of you and saying sorry shows you respect him. Even if it wasn’t your fault it still matters.
I think you should, maybe explain the situation or tell him it will be better in the future, probably would make him feel better about coming back or you could maybe even give him a small discount if you have that power that is, that could possibly resolve it
Yeah you should apologize, I would be pissed. Especially since your friend could have gone to any other dental place or made an appointment ahead of time.
Sure. It’s understandable that you didn’t know he’d need x-rays first, but an apology wouldn’t hurt.
