I work for a municipality. About 4 years ago I was asked to provide a list of duties I was currently doing and it would be compared to my current job description. If there were any differences, I may be entitled to a raise. I was sent a new, reformatted job description template and I got it all updated. Nothing ever came of it for me. Everyone in my department ended up getting raises and when I asked why didn’t I receive one, I was told the director said “how does that help the City?” So SOL I guess.
I recently found out that they took my work and published it as my official job description without my permission and obviously no compensation for any of the extra duties.
Is any of this legal?
TIA
