Single player games are way better than multiplayer games.

r/

No high speed internet needed, no people needed, no lag no micro transactions (in most cases that isn’t Ubisoft or EA) No constant practice and getting good required in most cases. Just you and a fun little adventure. The coolest thing about video games is getting lost in a world that isn’t the one we have, online gaming breaks that purpose entirely. If anything I’d go as far to say that couch-coop is also way better than Online play.

Something you didn’t mention- Being able to pause the game at any point. The amount of times I’ve had to explain to my parents growing up that I couldn’t pause the game because I was playing multiplayer was a lot.

This is a popular opinion. Downvoted. That said for me part of playing games is about doing it with others. So my list is.

    1. Couch co-op
    2. Single player
    3. Online with friends
    4. Online with strangers

if you have the group for it, co-op play can be great but this era seems way too predatory. skins, microtransactions, and how it’s designed to hook impressionable teens; the entire concept of co-op gameplay is flawed.
