My sister has a baby boy. Ever since giving birth, her personality has shifted which I know is normal but there are some things that are sending real warning flags to me as someone who has a JUSTNOMIL.
My sister’s son is 1 year. My sister told me point blank she would fight any skank who broke his heart. She got really defensive and protective and delivered this whole monolgue while we were sitting there playing with the baby. It came out of nowhere. It was not a joke.
My sister just enrolled her son in a local competition thats like a baby pageant of sorts.
She also calls herself a boy mom. When I asked her what the difference was at 1 year old, she told me all about the scraped knees and rough-housing knowing full well we used to play like that just as much as our brother did. I could tell it hurt her identity for me to challenge her and say she’s a mom, not a boy mom.
Lastly, she told me she hoped we would have a boy. She said she feels like you see all your own flaws and mistakes in girls but with a boy its a clean slate.
None of this is in keeping with her personality. As someone who doesn’t have kids, I dont understand it and it makes me uncomfortable. Any advice on how to graciously approach her about this behavior?

Ooooh as a mom of a boy she need therapy. She’s putting a lot on the baby. Also the internalized misogyny towards girls will leak right on to him
