Given all the shite stuff Trump’s being doing especially with social media monitoring for “anti semitic” content – are you all planning to keep your social media accounts or think this is that push you always needed really to finally get rid of them?
Clearly he is not going to stop at targeting international students who take part in protests. He’s going to come for all of us.

I only have reddit these days. I do miss the buy nothing groups on Facebook but it just isn’t worth the risk. Even YouTube forces their videos down my throat, no matter how many times I say “not interested.”

Got rid of them a while ago because they’re bad for my attention span. Anything with short-form content like reels probably isn’t good for me.
I don’t mind if social media is reviewed for hate speech, though. Meta, X, etc are supposed to do that anyway and really suck at it.
I only use Reddit, and I tend to only check in once or twice a week.

I ditched mine about a year ago, and didn’t use any from about 2012-2021. Life is absolutely better without it. Exchanged numbers with the people I wanted to keep in touch with. Use Reddit for memes and news. So much better.
I have a FB that I haven’t used for anything except marketplace for over 5 years. Thinking about trashing my IG and only keep reddit.
When I was a youngun, we were taught to stay anonymous online.
I deactivated my Facebook and Instagram the night of the election. I log in every blue moon to download knitting patterns, but that’s about it. I was about done before the election, but that sealed the deal. Zuckerberg can fuck off into the sun.
I do need to find a way to check Reddit less, though. It’s not good for me.
I deleted most of my socials not cause I’m scared, I just don’t like Zuckerberg and his algorithm. What I had was private anyways, but I hope people don’t stop posting their beliefs online because of this joke of a president. I’ve said plenty of negative things about him online and encouraged my friends to join Indivisible so whatever. I’m not letting it take up mental space in my head.
I’m a hairdresser so I have to keep IG. Not everyone in my Target demographic is going to delete it and it helps to have the platform. I’m leaning more into Google my business and old school word of mouth though.
Not American and not interested in traveling there at this time or possibly ever again so what Trump does in this arena is of little consequence to me personally.

I basically just do Reddit and Facebook rn. I only keep facebook for all the local groups and events I do. I don’t really post on there, and I definitely don’t post political stuff on there. I do have an insta but I only use that to post artwork.
The only place I talk about politics is Reddit. I’m not really worried about though. He can fuck off for all I can. I don’t spew hate speech and what I do say is free speech.

Dropped twitter when rat took over and destroyed its use as a platform to follow fandom things.
Minimal use of instagram since it merged?/bought out? By meta and started pushing half ass tiktok video format. Only occasionally post garden pics or a selfie.
Fb has been hardest for me to step back from even as I criticize it for going more and more into shit and pushing content and ads vs just showing you friends you follow and what those friends post.
It’s still the most useful for meetups and finding local events unfortunately. Sites like meet don’t seem to have much when you live in a small rural town.
I gave up Facebook and instagram because of zuckerbergs donation to his campaign and funding of his damn ball.. I gave up X as soon as Musk bought it. Never used the Others.
Reddit is the only account I have left and I’m staying.
