Raising a teenager is basically a nonstop game of emotional roulette. One minute you have a sweet kid who still asks you to buy them snacks and the next minute they are bringing home the most feral human beings you have ever met in your life. Every parent dreads the day their child falls in with the wrong crowd. But one mom on Reddit recently had to take absolute nuclear action when her fifteen year old daughter joined forces with a pair of absolute menaces.
The Original Poster is a mother whose teenage daughter was enrolled in a summer soccer camp twice a week. Summer camps are usually a great way to keep kids out of trouble and burn off some of that endless teenage energy. But instead of just learning how to pass a ball the daughter managed to pick up two brand new best friends. The mom immediately had a very bad feeling about this new dynamic trio.
The mom graciously allowed the two new girls to come over to their house for a hangout. It was an absolute disaster from start to finish. These girls were incredibly loud, wildly obnoxious, and completely trashed the house. When the mom politely asked them to quiet down, one of the girls actually rolled her eyes and started actively arguing with the adult whose house she was standing in. To top off the blatant disrespect, they blasted their music and forty dollars mysteriously vanished from the kitchen counter.
The mom did exactly what any sane parent would do and permanently banned those girls from setting foot inside her home ever again. She could not control who her daughter talked to on the soccer field but she could absolutely protect her own peace and her wallet. The daughter was obviously not a fan of this completely justified boundary but she continued seeing her chaotic friends at practice.
The soccer camp is located right next to a busy shopping plaza. The coaches allow the older kids to walk over and grab food from the local fast food joints during their breaks. Giving teenagers a little bit of freedom is usually a good thing. But this specific group of girls decided to use their lunch break to unleash absolute terror on the local Arby’s.
The mom received a highly alarming phone call from the soccer coach. The coach informed her that her daughter and the two banned friends caused a massive scene at the restaurant. The friends were ruthlessly heckling a fast food worker who was just trying to do their job. They dumped their drinks all over the floor on purpose and flipped off the employee before storming out.
The absolute worst part of the entire ordeal was the daughter’s role in the chaos. She did not try to stop her friends or walk away from the embarrassing scene. Instead she pulled out her phone and acted as the official camera crew. She recorded the entire disgusting interaction while laughing along with her friends. The mom was completely horrified and disgusted by her own child’s behavior.
This mom did not hesitate to drop the hammer. She immediately pulled her daughter out of the soccer camp entirely. She firmly informed the teenager that since she cannot behave herself in public she is losing her privileges. She also officially banned her from ever seeing those two girls again. Actions have very real consequences and terrorizing minimum wage workers is a fast track to getting grounded for life.
The teenager threw a massive tantrum and tried to flip the script on her mother. She accused the mom of only hating her friends because they are ghetto. The mom did not take the bait or back down. She looked her daughter right in the eye and agreed with her. She explicitly stated that the girls are too ghetto, too loud, too rude, and too disrespectful to be around.
Now the teenager is giving her mother the silent treatment. But the plot thickens because the mom shared the situation with her own sister and got the worst advice imaginable. The aunt basically told the mom that she forgot her roots and needs to let the teenager keep her feral friends.
Let us get one thing perfectly clear. Since when is harassing an Arby’s employee a cultural root? Bad behavior is bad behavior regardless of your background. Trashing a restaurant and stealing money from a kitchen counter is not a personality trait to be celebrated or excused. The aunt is completely out of line for trying to guilt trip a mother who is actively trying to raise a decent human being.
The internet is giving this mom a massive standing ovation. She is absolutely not the ahole. It is her fundamental job to step in when her kid starts acting like a menace to society.
