Social work student but passionate about LE

r/

Hello all! I am a 21 y/o female currently studying social work in my undergrad. I chose to study social work because I’ve always been deeply passionate and interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement, but wanted to have a bachelor’s degree in a similar field under my belt just in case being a police officer doesn’t work out. Right now, I’m thinking more seriously about becoming a police officer after I graduate (which is next spring), but I’m honestly just feeling anxious about making a decision like this and adjusting to a completely new career path.

I just want to pick everyone’s brains—has anyone gone into law enforcement with a social work degree? If so, was it worth it? Why or why not? Any advice is appreciated!!
