Imagine someone is smack talking you, or someone is blowing in your ear, calling you names, laughing at you, many people th8s that the victim should beat them up…… however, I have a separate opinion.
If someone doesn’t lay their hands on you in anyway, you laying their hands on them is immediately not justified.
And I hate the “social media got y’all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it” quote, it’s extremely overused, and still doesn’t justify assault.
Do you guys know just How dangerous fights are? They could kill someone, punches to the face could actually kill people, you know?
If someone who saying disrespectful things to you, say disrespectful things back, ITS THAT EASY.
However, if someone keep son doing annoying things physically to you, I think that you have a right to push them, but not beat the crap outta them lmao.
If you actually physically injure someone just for saying rude things to you, then you have your own set of problems to work through and get over.

This… isnt unpopular at all, that’s why it’s called assault!
I am beginning to think that many people on Reddit don’t know what unpopular means.
This is very unpopular among gang members but most of society agrees with you
I think that this applies to a limit. If it’s just a single insult then yeah I agree. However if it’s goes on far after you confronted them/told them to stop, I think it’s valid. Pushing someone is as good as throwing a punch for people who can fight and you would be putting yourself at risk by keeping it at just a push. If someone is harassing you/a loved one even after you told them to leave you alone punching them is justified. Maybe not legally, but definitely morally
Mods? You awake?
Kind of just worked through one after the physical injury. Over it !
if somebody blows in my ear, I’d probably equate that to laying hands on me.
Still, avoid fights at all costs; you never know if the other person has a gun, lost their job and isn’t thinking clearly, etc.
I do think it’s unpopular. So better not do that to me irl
I’m in Texas. It literally is, we have laws on the books regarding fighting words.

I don’t know definitely depends if someone is yelling in my face and getting really close to me I’m not going to wait for him to try something I am going to go ahead and break his nose. I also think bullying is bad if someone is facing constant harassment on a daily basis from someone in my mind it would be justified to fuck em up. -edit- and I mean really mess them up not some wimpy little shove
Not an unpopular opinion at all. Look at how Will Smith ruined his reputation in one fell swoop.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
agreed. if you cant keep your cool, youll get arrested.
Nah according to Reddit you do a Roman salute you need to be hospitalized
Depends on where you are from. In Myanmar, there is code law rather than the US, which is case law. They base law on moral code. If you lack moral, you may strike them as long as you do not have the intention to kill them.
For instance, my Burmese husband has a mentally handicapped brother. Someone used the R word in Burmese at his brother in public. Not only did he get smacked by my husband, but other people who overheard it.
Wrong in one country. Justified in another.
Before you judge, understand life in Myanmar isn’t doom scrolling on YouTube for a world view, often it comes down to kill or be killed, unfortunately.
Op I’m starting to think all you do is trying to find validation on the Internet.
I mostly agree. But if you keep verbally assaulting people you should expect to get hit eventually.
Being antagonistic/threatening and assault are defined by law. You have a right to defend yourself. Defend is also defined by law. There are several situations where the law justifies you defending yourself even if the other person is just using words.
The world would be a better place if everyone acted like the person they were talking to was about to punch them in the face.
Depends what they say…anything about me I could care less, but they start talking crazy about someone I deeply care about…I’d gladly take that assault charge.
Like you’re not about to start bullying my mother in front of me, you’re getting decked, arrest me. 🤷🏻♂️
eh depends. the saying is talk shit get hit. I think the context matters most
