I feel like this is exactly what a stereotypical white person would do. Go on an indigenous island and then post about it, lol

What are your biggest takeaways from it, lessons you learned? How was the overall population doing health wise (physically and mentally)? Is there something that the indigenous peoples do differently that could benefit the western world? The biggest take away is you cannot save everyone, but that is also the same in all communities. The health gaps are huge and health illiteracy is even bigger. One thing we could learn is to take a step back and slow down and enjoy the small things, like a sunrise. Here
This is gonna seem like a joke, but it’s not. Did you fuck? Also how was the food? Did you have to acclimate to it? What were the cooking methods like? How was it sourced? My wife was also with me. Food was okay, we had a lot of it shipped over from the mainland, but most of it was off by the time we got it. Here
How did you develop and build trust with the indigenous population? As I worked in health, they had a high respect for us as we made them better. I also took the time to get to know their culture and respect their land. I would always ask for permission to venture to their individual sections of the land on days off. Here
What was your accommodation like Accommodations were actually quite nice. Very small free standing dongas. Stone bench tops, so some qualities haha Here
Are you a missionary Na, dont have a religion, athiest if anything. Here
What is the total population? Which Ocean? Population 1900. Rather no disclose. Here
why were you there I worked there in a public service role – health related. Here
What was the island Rather no disclose sorry. Here
Subway or KFC? I prefer Subway. But on the island there was a corner store and nothing else. Here

Public health through a government agency? How does someone look for jobs like this? I’m also in healthcare and would be interested in this kind of experience.
