The first 3 movies were epic. Even up to the first 5 were interesting because it brought in a new generation of Star Wars fans
But now it’s overdone and stupid to the point of overshadowing the brilliant movies and concept it started with.
I hate Star Wars now after previously loving it and May the 5th Sith your ass lol

First 3 were boring. Prequels 2/3 were decent. Sequels were ight
Pretty popular opinion..
Star Wars is fragmented.
There are great characters and stories. The cannon is broker and crap, but the franchise still pulls off great storytelling and universe building with Andor and Ashoka.
This is pretty much the general opinion out there, not unpopular…
I did not expect anything good to come from Disney anyway
Its not exactly an unpopular opinion since no one hates star wars more than star wars fans. As a star wars fan who consumes all the media (even the bad ones) I don’t engage in the fandom as it’s probably one of the most toxic out there.
Not that unpopular of an opinion, tbh.
Star Wars was always stupid. It was meant to be campy. The prequels took themselves too seriously and then the sequels had to improve on that.
I’m just mad they removed all the interesting books and shit from the canon, and now only Disney approved stuff is canon.
Star Wars is garbage and everyone knows it. They created characters no one cares about and then banked on doubling down on those shitty characters. Andor is fire though.
I am extremely jaded about all things Star Wars, but Andor remains an unexpected treat.
I mean, even people who love Star Wars, hate Star Wars now. I still love the original trilogy, but after Rise of Skywalker, I’ve given up on Star Wars. I mean, fans now claim that Rogue One is not only one of the best of the Disney era movies, but one of the best Star Wars movies period.
If fans are holding up Rogue One as an example of one of the best films in the series, then that speaks to a serious lack of quality after the original trilogy.
Pretty popular. Once the bloke that played Luke turned into the biggest empire schill we knew it was done
This is for unpopular opinions dawg
Star Wars has always been shit
Odd time to say that with Andor airing right now.
Just interesting timing for this post given the most recent content is some of the best Star Wars out there.
Andor is nailing things in its second season. Even a show like Skeleton Crew nailed its intention.
It all ended when Disney bought it.
I’ve got bad news. The fourth movie was terrible. As well as 5th and 6th.
Everything after the first three movies is atrocious trash. There are two exceptions.
Rogue one is a great movie in its own right, and an amazing Star Wars entry. And solo is actually surprisingly decent for a fun crazy adventure. Even though it’s a crazy silly Adventure the writing isn’t offensively stupid, etc.
I’m still investigating Andor.
It got bad in 1999
The best part of star wars is the idea of star wars
The first 3 movies were as stupid as the modern stuff. But it was what was there when we were kids. Then in the early 2000s we thought the prequels were stupid. Then the kids who were kids in the early 2000s grew up and they’re being relitigated. And the kids who are kids now that new ‘stupid’ Star Wars is coming out are loving it, and it’ll be relitigated again in 10-15 years.
It may not be for you any more, but it hasn’t gotten any worse.
Star Wars was always stupid
Not really. Andor is amazing. Skeleton Crew was an easy binge. Ahsoka is also good in terms of new TV shows.
I think you should manage your expectations. Also this is a popular opinion (on reddit). Normal people like it though.
It has become nothing more than a money grab.
Yeah I never saw the appeal to Star Wars
I said something similarish to my teen just yesterday. Not that it’s stupid, per se, but the franchise has grown far too giant for me to keep up with. I loved 4,5,6 and didn’t hate 1,2,3 or (unpopular opinion of my own here) 7,8,9. And, tbh I haven’t hated the other things I’ve seen, but I’m at a point where I can’t see the spaceships for the stars anymore and it’s become a bit overwhelming.
Well, George Lucas had enough of it, can’t blame him, you gotta live your life too, disney just turned it into money making machine, can’t blame them either, that’s what they are, money making machine.
The franchise did deserve better but I also think, we don’t need Star Wars. We can create something even better that would inspire generations to come without lightsabers and wookies.
Even more unpopular opinion: none of the movies are good. Empire has a few moment but the writing, direction and story are terrible and always were. I was easily fooled as a child though when I tried to get my kids to try them, they hated it and asked me to turn it off.
Wrong sub lol
It doesn’t deserve the money it rakes in.
New Star Wars really isn’t all that different from old. You just aren’t looking with nostalgia goggles.
It’s a perfectly okay story with an awesome bigger world.
