Stipulation for Judgment- CC Debt Collection

I was served papers by Discover’s attorney at the end of last month for nonpayment of my credit card, (I’ve been out of work, it was unwise to let it get to this point, I know.) I set up a payment plan with the debtors and made my first payment, but today I received a stipulation for judgment in the mail outlining my payment plan and saying that they would continue with the judgment but not move forward with garnishing wages unless the payment agreement was broken.

This was sent in the 21-day window of my answer being sent to the court. I did send the court my answer, stating that I confirm the debts but am in a payment plan and request that the judge delay judgment while payment plan is being fulfilled.

In your experience, do judges dismiss or delay cases like this? I understand that the judgment is a way to prevent nonpayment for the creditors, but I’m wondering if I should wait or just sign the stipulation of judgment and send it back. I obviously would like to avoid a judgment on my record if possible- very unfamiliar with the entire process and frankly a little overwhelmed.

Thanks so much in advance.
