I think I might mention this to LE in the morning because it is a little odd, although I also feel silly to mention it. Curious to hear opinions.
My wife was moving our trash cans out front of our apartment and found a toy gun placed under one of the cans. She said it looked like it was placed there under the trash can and not just thrown onto our property. It’s a little unsettling because we have two infants. Is this something that sounds suspicious/should be mentioned to LE or does it sound more like kids just playing? Not sure if it’s worth mentioning to LE.
We have lived here in Queens for a number of years without any issues at all. I do think as a new parent, I’m extra sensitive to things out of the ordinary.

What is the street activity like a normal basis & When you say toy gun do you mean like clearly a toy gun (orange tip) or a Glock replica bb gun that is indistinguishable from a real one.
Scenario A (WOULD call police): If your street doubles as an open air drug market and the toy gun looked like a real one. That potentially could mean they have it nearby for self defense and maybe just left it there on accident or for some other reason. they may also have real ones nearby at other times.
i don’t think you’re necessarily at risk of being targeted yourself, but could be accidentally harmed, and also just a larger problem going on warranting police intervention and a clear ask for police to address.
Option B (WOULDNT call): If it’s clearly a fake gun and/or you don’t have any other problems on your street. I wouldn’t give it too much thought unless something else occurs than maybe i’d escalate and call police. but more generally if you were to call for this there’s not really much a cop could (or would) do beyond take a report
You are worried about a toy gun..?
OP what are your concerns with the toy gun. What do you think it means or indicates?
