This is a comment/question coming from the United States. IMHO, science — especially basic science — is under attack in this country. What strategies, if any, have scientific organizations put in place to preserve the knowledge and recommendations under attack by the current administration? Have they established “Scientific Panels in Exile” (borrowing from the experience of governments in WW-II) to preserve the wisdom and recommendations of, e.g., the dismissed panel of vaccine experts?
