Streaming services shouldn’t automatically skip or minimize the credits at the end of a movie.

Look, I know I’m in the minority, but I really enjoy watching the credits at the end of the film. Even before the hidden scene during the credits trend (which I’m not a big fan of) The ending fade to credits can often be a really big moment, the music that is chosen (and sometimes created!) for the end credits can give you a lot to think or reflect, and it can amplify the message of the film.

1996’s Romeo and Juliet, Kill Bill vol 2, Fightclub, and the Hunger Games are all movies with great ending credits. But if you watch these sequences on a streaming service, by default, the moment is completely gutted as the credits become minimized, the music lowered in volume, and a 5-10 second countdown starts playing unless you have your remote nearby, but even then, the moment is robbed!

Some streaming services have no method of disabling this, or require you to launch the web app to change this setting, and that’s a shame. Thoughts?

I don’t think I’ve seen one that let’s you skip the credits at the end

    Definitely unpopular either way

theres rarely stuff in the credits worth watching. for those that have interesting credits or something, you can just override the automatic skip.

Some films or shows really spend a lot of time making their initial end credits sequence fun. Others make you hear the song Gangnam Style for the first time. Now you’ve spent the last 10 years avoiding that song because you’re better than pop culture and realize it’s amazing. Now you have to question all things that led you there.

Anyways I crashed my car into a bridge the other day, I don’t care – I like it.

I absolutely hate that, then you have to fumble with the remote to go back to full screen and a race against time to do it before it plays whatever piece of crap they decided to queue up. Just let me watch the gd credits in peace

I don’t always watch credits to the end but about 99% of the time I keep them running for a while. It’s a great moment to just sit back and process the film for a while.

Personally I tend to watch stuff on Blu-ray so there’s no interruptions for me; not a fan of being abruptly interrupted because “the film is over now, time to do something else! Immediately!”
