So, my former Ph.D. supervisor submitted a paper I (primary author) wrote on Materials & Design journal.
It was submitted back in early February
The first review took about 2 weeks. Then it went back to “required reviews are complete”. Followed by “under review” for another 2-3 weeks. And then finally, “required reviews are complete” for the last time. It had stayed that way for the last 2-3 weeks. The last time I checked the status was back in Tuesday of this week.
I logged into the editorial manager today and found that my submission is gone. There’s nothing on any of the fields (New Submissions, Revisions, Completed).
I once had a paper rejected by another journal, and it had an update under the “completed” section (submissions with a decision-reject). But now, there is nothing.
Any idea what’s going on?

Often final determination is only available to the corresponding author, not necessarily the first author.
