I just got a letter in the mail from United Subrogation Associates saying that I have been identified as “the owner a vehicle or property that was involved.” (that exact wording) To fully catch you up, the letter says I got into an accident 4/7/24. I don’t fully remember ever getting into any type of major accident, the only thing that comes to mind is a minor fender bender I had with a lady that lives in the same apartment complex as me. We did not exchange information at the time, which really saved me because at the time, I did not have insurance. I had not heard anything from anyone until today 07/14/25. My only assumption is that we didn’t exchange information at the time of the crash but she got my plate information from where I park my car usually. I assume that the Subrogation letter is her insurance trying to get me on the hook for paying for whatever damages she might’ve gotten. Do I even respond to the letter? Can I dispute this event even happening? Because it was so long after the fact, how can she prove that she hit me or vice versa? How can I prove that it wasnt me if it ends up being a bogus accident? I am afraid that if I contact them, that exactly what they want.

You admit it was you. You need to pay for the damage you caused. If you don’t pay it, your license can be suspended.
Sounds like this caught up to you and insurance is looking to collect what they paid that you were liable for.
Confirm that this is your accident and your bill. And pay what you owe. Before they sue and ask the state to take your license.
