As a recently single girl there have been a few times where I’ve seen a cute guy in public and wanted to introduce myself and give them my number. Not only is it terrifying, but it’s hard to tell when someone is uninterested vs just shy.
Even myself I get really nervous when I see an attractive guy noticing me and I may have come across as uninterested inadvertently.
So, if I gave you my number and you were taken or uninterested, how would you respond during the interaction?

I have had this happen a bunch and I just take the number, add it into my phone, then block it.
I honestly can’t imagine what guy would be offended or upset with a girl approaching him and asking for their number. That sounds rarer than a unicorn. Personally, I’d find the confidence attractive.
If I was uninterested or taken I’d just be honest and try to be as polite as I could. Most guys are going to be very familiar to the rejection you’re fearing, and I couldn’t possibly imagine giving someone else the kind of rude/sad shit I’ve heard.

Jesus christ, is this post a joke? Look all guys unless their married, taken or not straight, will take your number, heck even the ones who shouldn’t will too, guys LOVE IT when a girl gives out their number. The only problem is most girls don’t commit to what comes after or show low effort. Anyway, you got nothing to be scared of all guys love it, heck they’ll love it even more if you took a pen and wrote your number on their arm.
I just laugh. They say. “Oh you were serious. Cool, thanks.” Then turn away and continue my conversation and drink.
