When I was walking home and that teen hit me while passing me by on his bicycle. For no reason at all. I have never seen him before, I was on the sidewalk, minding my own buissness. 2 minutes later I see him on a playground. So I started shouting at him why the fuck he did that. That kid pulled out a wood saw. Too late. At this point I was so pumped with adrenaline that this didn’t stop me. I grapped him by the coller of his jacket and shouted at him. I didn’t wanna hurt him. I just wanted to scare him and show, that girls can fight back too.
I got out of that situation without a single scratch and so did he. I still called the police though becaue why does a teen carry a saw???
Went to Vegas for my then boyfriend’s bday and he wanted to play some poker. I play a lot of online poker and I’m actually very good at it but when you play in person there are special hand gestures and signals which I was unfamiliar with. I was the only woman at this particular table and between that and the fact that I didn’t tap the table when I was supposed to or whatever I could see the other players thought I didn’t know what I was doing. Which made it extra satisfying when I took them out one by one 🙂 It wasn’t a high stakes table or anything but I walked away with $2k which was enough to cover our whole trip!
When I was 19, I was trying to find my first big girl job. I had signed up with a temp agency and applied for a receptionist gig through them. I had one interview with the temp agency and it went great. The interviewer was a really sweet woman and she called me and asked me to come in for a second interview as her boss wanted to meet me. I, of course, accepted and went in. Before I even said anything basically, her boss, a man, confidently told me that I’m way too young for this job and there is just no way I’m prepared. I was so upset – I was such a hard worker, I had excelled at everything I did at that point.
A couple days later, my first interviewer called me and asked if I’d be interested in working for the temp agency directly as their receptionist. I jumped on it and accepted. It took less than a week for multiple people at the company to tell me how amazing I was and how impressed they were with my work. I was called back to work for them many times and was offered a senior position at one point by the same guy in the second interview. I happily declined.
I work in sports. I get underestimated all the time 🙃
I studied computer programming and my aunt thought I couldn’t make it. I graduated with honours and have a job in the industry.
Usually when people underestimate you it’s because they themselves believe that they couldn’t do it and look down on you. If they can’t do, then they think there is no way you could do it.
I was dating this guy in high school and he sent a pic of his math homework to show off that he was in the smart class
completely misread the tone and I thought he was asking for help so I solved the problem he was on. and showed my work
