Not always but in like 98% of the times i see people doing the haka i’m cringing.
Most of the times there is nothing intimidating or honorable in it. Just some dudes and gals making Fanny faces embarassing themselves.
Edit: Guys, I’m not american. You can stop the “Yeah? But XY americans do is also cringe!! Ha, Got You!!”-comments đ

…who even cares enough to consider it cringe lmao
That is exactly right
Racists gonna racist.
Heaven forbid a non European culture manages to preserve its heritage and culture in to the modern day, despite colonisers best efforts to eradicate it.
What’s more cringe, that or American adults doing tik Tok dances
This seems ignorant or racist . Maybe learn the history before posting
What’s fanny faces?
youd think differently staring down a couple dozen moari warriors performing the dance right before they beat you and your village into bloody submission.
You donât have to enjoy everything to respect and understand its purpose.
It’s as cringe as americans standing up and singing the national anthem with hands on their hearts at every opportunity they get. Fanatical patriotism vibes, Haka is just cute when compared to it.
Who calls it the haka dance
R u a Dummy American
Itâs pretty normal to have different feelings when youâre observing other cultures. Especially when you donât understand or canât relate to them. Sometimes theyâre positive, sometimes theyâre negative, sometimes itâs just confusion. You can choose to keep your distance, ignore, learn, immerse yourself,âŚ
Judging them for your reaction is an issue, though. Which is what youâre doing in your second paragraph. You donât understand it, so you say itâs not honorable. How would you know? You would find it embarrassing if you had to do it (because itâs not part of your culture), so they should feel embarrassed? No, thanks.
This “opinion” again?
I dunno mate iâve only seen the Hakka performed by the New Zealand rugby team or at a performance in a traditional MÄori village when I visited New Zealand. I donât think something that intimidating and culturally significant could be cringe.
That’s a you problem
Are you Maori?
No more cringe than singing the national anthem
Or playing bagpipes at every event âŚ..
You shouldn’t be bothered by anything that doesn’t have any actual impact in anybody’s life, except the one directly involved. You don’t dislike the haka dance, you are just living a boredom that’s so chronic that you can’t even notice it anymore.
I can’t think of many things that are more ‘cringe’ than calling another culture ‘cringe’, to be honest.
