If you’re not familiar with the the recent update here is a comparison image.

I think the previous style was perfectly fine. The vibrant gold stripe at the bottom makes it stand out. The keystone image since PA in the Keystone State. The outline of the state in the top left corner. The state has used a similar look for over 20 years. (although it could lose the website)
I understand that PA is hyping itself up for the 250th anniversary next year. Going with the parchment and patriotic colors is fine if it was a limited issue plate for the event but this is going to be standard issue for the foreseeable future. (our welcome signs changed to this theme too)
While Philly is the largest metro area in PA the plate would be better suited as a city plate. The only image on this plate is a Philly monument. A significant amount of Pennsylvanians live in other parts of the state. PA’s population isn’t nearly as centralized around a single city as other states.
I don’t know, I just don’t like the license plate. I think this is unpopular. Some of the posts when they first released the new design seemed to have lukewarm to warm receptions towards the change. Either way, I’m going to rock this Keystone Plate until it falls apart.
