This is going to be unpopular if but idc because I’m so angry rn because yet again the doctors continue to do nothing.
I hate the NHS.
I hate it. It’s negligent. It’s horrible.
I used to try to say “It’s overworked, understaffed and underpaid” but I just can’t lie anymore.
The NHS, is a lie. It’s bull.
It doesn’t work if you’re not healthy.
It’s not built to get to the problem their logic is to treat the symptoms.
I hate that the NHS is ruined.
I hate that I live in a country with “free” healthcare yet still have to pay to go private because otherwise I’m fobbed off.
This country is an absolute joke.
The NHS is a joke.
I’m sick of it here.

the NHS is brilliant if you are ambulance ill before that it’s a bit naff
I found out today that I’ve got to have another operation, because the last surgeon ‘did the wrong one’. This information was presented casually, as if it hadn’t dominated the past year of my life.
I really want you guys to go live in a country without proper healthcare access so you’ll actually have something to complain about.
Yes the NHS needs work but acting like it doesn’t hugely serve the public is wild.
It is, but it needs more money and better management
The more we allow it to slip away, the easier it will be to convince us that we actually want a US-style approach to healthcare. I promise – we don’t.
Couldn’t agree more. I will draw hate for this but this is r/unpopularopinion – often it’s the staff’s fault, because they’re allowed to get away with this narrative of being underpaid and overworked as being rationale for sh*t service, and the air of superiority that the average GP speaks to you with is disgraceful (I’ve incidentally never experienced this when going through private work cover).
I’ve been twice fobbed off by my local GP in the past 18 months with a chest infection. Refused an appointment even though I’ve explained I have chronic asthma and commonly get bad chest infections. Both times I’ve had to wait for them to shut for 111 to refer me to out of hours for steroids and antibiotics despite extreme shortness of breath and very high fever.
Similarly, I injured my shoulder and ankle falling over around 12 months ago, quite badly. Fobbed off by the GP for ankle numbness as “just something weird” and the shoulder pain, “have you tried losing weight?” – I’m mildly overweight which I’m working on, but nowhere near the point of obesity causing chronic pain, especially at my age (early 30s).
Called back for a second opinion with another GP at the practice. Told to self refer for physio “if it’s that bad” and that “they’ll probably tell you they have no appointments though”.
