It popped up in my feed and I looked at it and it’s filled with people talking about shifting into their “desired reality” where the S/O is a famous YouTube that they love, or where their parent isn’t sick. They’re obsessed with “PermaShifting” to escape the ONLY reality that actually exists.
It makes me real sad to see such a delusional group supporting each other’s bad coping mechanisms. You can’t change what you’re reality is. And then you get the one person in the comments who has “mastered” shifting and jumps flbetween multiple realities at will or the also have telekinesis and “how can you believe you can shift but dont believe I have telekinesis??” Overall it’s just a sad strange corner of the internet that isn’t healthy for anyone to engage with.

There’s another sub that’s name escapes me at the moment that’s a hundred times worse. It’s basically a lot of kids and twenty-somethings talking about how their lives are “over” and how they plan to kill themselves.
And often times it’s for reasons that adults wouldn’t think twice about – “I’ve got no friends at school so I’m going to kill myself. I’ve got it all worked out e.t.c…”.
I’m almost glad I can’t remember which sub it was because it was heartbreaking to read.
The internet has destroyed humanity. The concept of that sub is better described as shared delusion.
As sad as it is, I get it. It’s easier to resign to a defeatist attitude of the current world. It takes effort to make the world around you what you want it to be, and a lot of it out of people’s control.
And you think this is an unpopular opinion because a tiny niche subreddit exists for it?
I know lucid dreaming is real; but doing things in moderation is the key.
Meh it’s basically just a religion. What’s the difference between going to Harry Potter and heaven?
The tulpa one is kind of similar
If only we had universal therapy
Lots of subs end up like that. It’s a sad manifestation if mental illness significantly made worse by feeding into itself.
This isn’t unpopular. Most people agree chronic Redditors are unwell.
…but you can certainly readjust your incorrect usage of “you’re” vs your”.
