Nothing compels me towards them. They look ugly and their connotation doesn’t enthrall me in any way. I do like the idea of biting so hard it leaves dents or wounds but oddly, despite how popular hickeys are and how many wear them proudly, I find them inconvenient and gaudy to show the public unless for voyeuristic reasons though I’ve never met anyone who shows their hickeys for that reason
Edit: I had no idea so many people agreed! I didn’t know this was an age thing, I’m 21 and never dated, kissed anyone, had a crush and I don’t get to talk to people IRL so I’ve learned much from the comments. Thanks!!

It’s not about attractiveness.
It’s a way for mostly teenagers to signal to each other that they have access to a romantic partner.
It’s about status.
I bet you almost never see anyone over high school with a hickey.
Think this is pretty popular opinion for adults.
There isn’t, they just feel great when you’re balls deep
This opinion is only unpopular if you’re under 15
I think this is a pretty popular opinion for people over 17, even those that still enjoy them. I cover mine up when I go to work and really look at them by myself because the visual reminder makes me happy.
Very popular opinion.
Congratulations on turning 16
Its not the visual, it’s the act. I like to give them and receive them during sex. But mindfully placed.
but a hickey from kenickie is like a hallmark card
I showed off a bunch when we had a silly bit with my friend. But I see a lot of student with hickeys, they are VERY serious and rather adult overall. I think they don’t know about them.
Some of us really do just like how it feels
Your’e 21 and still talking about hickeys?
Also, it was never a mark of beauty, it was just showing off that you’re doing stuff with someone else FROM SCHOOL because no adults do this.
