Some shows just suck. Some things made colossal screw ups. It happens.
What’s weird lately are the people using this as an excuse to call out the actors and employees, people with families and jobs, as anything but a saint. Mocking appearances, disabilities or personal lives for sport just because they may hate what they do.
But when genuine criticism is put out, it’s as if people can’t tell the difference between hate and critique.
I think the hate is disgusting, and it’s happening even more these days. But I also can’t stand the fact that there are just some shows that have hamfisted or corny writing and the criticism of it is compared to the worst content imaginable.
So until the two can be separated, that hate filled content is just gonna keep finding its way out, until every reasonable voice left gets drowned out, and the criticism is just nasty comments about a kids looks by creepy stalkers.

Is this about The Last of Us 2?
What?
They’re there and have been. If you keep seeing them it’s just that you keep feeding the algorithm for the other.
Actors and Actresses have been called out for decades for various things, some having nothing to do with their acting abilities.
I imagine some Greek thespian in Athens saying, “To be or not to be!” and then getting black balled by Greek Society for quoting a line that hadn’t even been written yet. (Much less for saying it in English which no one understood)
If you’re referring to the current state of TLoU I totally get what you’re saying. The criticism regarding the story has been going on long before the TV series. The second game was extremely divisive and a decent portion of the player base out right quit after the “big reveal.”
Then, anyone who voiced their dislike of where the story had gone was labled a “sexist right-wing troll.” The truth was that the story had clearly caused a massive rift in the fan base and turned many away out right.
However, the games “journalists” continued their scummy behavior of covering up and smearing the outrage. All because the game appealed to some of their ideals and to stay on the good side of AAA producers.
Fully agree. The Last of Us show actor who got shamed on the internet making fun of their appearance only to turn out they were trans. Wow, good job everyone. I guess if you despise a show, making fun of someone like that is fine.
P.S it disgusts me that this is not a recent thing. The Jar Jar Binks actor from Star wars was ready to kill himself in New York when he received harsh criticism. Also, the Asian girl from the recent star wars, a lot of hate. People are nasty. She wasn’t even bad, I liked the character
I really think that people have so much frustration in their daily lives, I mean like everyone, even myself, that it is too much and they need somewhere to just be toxic. There is no critical thinking whatsoever. When people are in the limelight, they have a red target on their back for anyone online. Unless you are an online persona who funnels the hatred to other online personas, then you are going to be a target.
I think that if the environment which so many of us lived in was more positive, people would be a lot more non-biased in commenting on some actor’s role in a movie or show. They don’t really care all that much, they are just projecting their frustration onto something unimportant, to subconsciously alleviate feelings of inadequacy
