Anyone here illegally has broken the law.

Right wing ideology gets mocked and banned on Reddit. This is an echo chamber so you won’t get an answer here.

They’re re fine with. Here’s why. The only thing of “value” that poor whites have is their whiteness. Until recently that was enough to get and keep you at the top of the heap.

That’s no longer the case and they’re terrified. Along comes a grifter who promises them they’ll matter again and they can’t vote for him fast enough.

President Johnson understood this perfectly when he said:

“If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you.”

    And here we are.

Or immigrants who are the parents of very young American citizens?!?! These ICE officers are horrid human beings. I hope they all rot in h3ll.

  5. Knot1Thing Avatar

And why is ICE only arresting seemingly docile individuals? Low hanging fruit. When is ICE going to go to gang neighborhoods in NY, LA, Chicago, Detroit? We never hear of any shootouts. But they invite the media to cover a raid on a Mexican restaurant, or an individual at a court hearing. If ICE is going after the gangs, then to to where the gangs are. Don’t show us 3 big dudes arresting a working guy, with no weapons. Hey, we sent a gang mbr to El Sal. What gang mbr? The guy cleaning tables at a Mexican restaurant? Instead of unsupported accusations, can you show us the evidence?

  6. WorthProof9480 Avatar

Genuine answer from someone who voted for him. I think its a double edge sword. Yes they came here illegally and theyre trying to make it right by becoming citizens but because they came here illegally in the administrations eyes thats too much. Me personally im in the same boat but also I think if there were people in that situation i’d turn the other eye because theyre going down the right path of citizenship.

  7. brokenmessiah Avatar

AskReddit still hasnt figured out those people are not going to answer.

If you actually care, they are talking about this on conservative and the general vibe is “well i dont like that’.

The problem is that no one knows exactly what the problems are with immigration. Are undocumented immigrants stealing jobs, using public services like hospitals and schools for free, and delivering “anchor babies”? Or are they interested in citizenship and assimilating, fleeing political strife caused by decades of US policy, paying billions into SS that they will never claim, doing jobs in the hidden economy that citizens won’t take and which don’t make economic sense otherwise? And how do we find a consensus that addresses whatever it is? What should the restrictions be? How many per year? What route(s) to citizenship? There was a bipartisan plan in 1986 that was never fully implemented. Immigration has been a toxic hot potato since before Ellis Island.

  11. Agitated-Courage-787 Avatar

They can go back to their country and do it the “proper way”. Literally every other country does this – but for some reason America isn’t allowed to.

  12. CertainlyUncertain4 Avatar

I think the problem with this question is that it doesn’t differentiate between illegal immigrants and those who came legally. Are you asking about people who crossed illegally and then entered the system, or people who arrived legally (student, marriage, employer sponsor) who are then trying to become citizens?

I’m not a Trump voter, but from the ones I know, I’d say they are happy to have the former deported. If anyone came here illegally, they shouldn’t be here at all, is the belief.

As to people who have come here legally and are trying to become citizens, the Trumpist attitude seems to be basic “toleration”, but no real love. If they get citizenship, ok. But honestly we don’t really want them, we’re just tolerating it because they’re going through proper channels.

A big part of MAGA is racial, but it’s not entirely racial. It’s also xenophobic. So white non-Americans aren’t as bad as non-whites, but they’re still not great. The only thing great is a white American, born and raised.

  13. Bellaeve Avatar

They won’t answer cause they’ve all been banned

  14. sailphish Avatar

Nobody here is going to give a legit answer… but I will tell you what all the MAGA Trumpets at my work feel about it because they talk about it all the time. They fucking love it. They didn’t want immigrants here regardless. Especially brown immigrants. Hell, they would be fine “deporting” Puerto Ricans because most probably don’t believe they are citizens. Now when they start deporting white doctors and engineers from Europe, maybe they would give some mildly equivocal answer, but for now they are basking in racism.

Oh, and this is at a hospital, in a reasonably diverse city. So, the people who should be frontline fighting for these people. Nope. A bunch of bigots who are damn proud of their stance on all of this and think the country is doing great.

  15. that1cooldude Avatar

Op! These are white people who voted to get rid of non-whites… and they don’t care who and how. a lot of them that I know are so happy and are cheering their savior on. It’s absolutely disgusting. No humanity.

  16. No_Locksmith9690 Avatar

How do people feel about them deporting a 2 year old citizen.

  17. Mrgray123 Avatar

Unfortunately we can’t ask the “conservatives” on here because they block anyone who doesn’t fall in line behind Trump.

  18. Conan_Vegas Avatar

Watch Shark Tank. A yuge percentage are immigrants.

  19. bobbyhuSTLe79 Avatar

It seems it’s very rarely about criminals and quite often about non white people

  20. ProwlingChicken Avatar

They don’t care. Look at his poll numbers among republicans. Look at the interviews in the NYT with trump voters..

    They. Don’t. Care.

  21. PewPewLazrs101 Avatar

Actual conservative: No okay with it obviously. The issue happening is the same issue that happens every time someone in power tries to fix something. They Grossly overcorrect. The issue was the mass illegal immigration. The solution, skip due process and just start deporting willy nilly.

What I don’t see people addressing is that the proper way (due process) got hamstrung by sheer numbers. I know someone personally who was down at the border during this, last year. They were told to let them enter or lose their jobs. 90% of them were against it but have family’s to take care of.

there were so many illegals entering so fast. Because there were so many cases to he heard, They were given court dates 7 years out to hear whether they could legally stay. Because so many came in all at once. Imagine coming here illegally then being told they could stay up to 7 years before even being told they had to leave. Even if they were forced to leave, they would have lived here for 7 years at that point. So deporting them correctly would have been an impossible thing.

I don’t agree with the mass illegal immigration, I also don’t agree with what’s happening. I don’t know what solution should be created to handle the situation, but this is essentially an unprecedented situation.

So put me on the cross and burn me for answering the question as prompted. Lord knows conservatives aren’t allowed to have a voice on this echo chamber

  22. xxAkirhaxx Avatar

This is an obvious answer. A majority of the votes feel bad, a minority probably think it’s unavoidable, fake, or think everyone is secretly a criminal but they can’t say for whatever fucking reason, pick your deep state, I don’t pretend to understand the crazies. And then the last smallest margin are probably loving it, for any reason, pick it, nationalism, racism, money, hate, whatever.

The issue is, that majority of people who feel bad, will literally tell themselves anything to square it up with what led them here. “Well it’s not that bad.” “It’s only a few people.” “It could never be me.” The worst of the worst excuses. Another minority of the people who feel bad actually had a switch flicked that was like “OOH government bad and republicans really bad.”

But it sucks because some how republicans convinced the younger generation that they’re the counter culture. Yes, by all means, the religious, anti abortion, “find me a racist word” having (snowflake, woke, DEI, immigrant, it’s all another word for “someone I don’t like because…”), nationalist. They’re the counter culture ones. And our education system is just getting worse. Green Day just turned liberal all the sudden. Fucking idiots.

  23. Orion_2kTC Avatar

They’ll never answer honestly because they’re cowards and honestly they don’t fucking care.

  24. Difficult_Two_3234 Avatar

Is there room to discuss this without it turning ugly. I want to go back to the days of discourse.

    Republicans won’t explain their positions.

Is there an explanation? As a non American, I’m very curious to understand.

  25. lightknight7777 Avatar

Those people are loving it. That’s the terrible thing. You think this is a gotcha, but those bigots couldn’t be happier.

  26. atharakhan Avatar

I don’t know anyone who regrets or questions any of the administration’s policies. The furthest they will go is to do some logical and verbal gymnastics to still land on “I agree with what he is doing.”

In only one instance, someone went as far as to call it an “inconvenience” to a “very very small number of people for the greater good.”

I don’t know where you even start with someone like that.

  27. GreaterMetro Avatar

It is tragically amusing to watch the Twump lovers rail against Reddit lefties with wet lettuce arguments that don’t address the questions at hand and instead they attack the so-called imbalance of contributors because they have no credible and verifiable position to allow them to engage in real debate. Hate is not a logical basis for fruitful debate.

I don’t get why they aren’t up in arms about the constitutional crisis going on. I mean, they said they need all those guns to prevent an authoritarian government.

  38. NewGenMurse Avatar

I did a cursory scroll and couldn’t find an actual conservative answer, so here I am to present myself and my unpopular opinion to the Reddit mob. Remember, OP did ask for Trump voters.

In short, I don’t like it.

I am a Conservative, I did vote for Trump, but that doesn’t mean I’m not allowed to criticize him when he makes (what I believe) is a mistake. True immigrants who seek a better life should be praised and their immigration encouraged. We should be focusing on deporting the cartel-affiliated individuals who crossed the border illegally with malicious intentions, such as smuggling drugs or sex traffickers. Targeting citizens doesn’t do us any good unless they have a good reason to be deported, such as supplying a foreign enemy with intelligence. We can’t trade one problem with another, but we also can’t leave the border open.

  39. Wide-Bread-2261 Avatar

I voted for Trump, I’m just a regular guy and I’ll answer.

It genuinely sucks that immigrants who are going through the proper channels are getting deported. I hope that it’s a mistake due to the size and scope what they are trying to do. If it happening on purpose, this is not what I voted for and not what most Trump voters voted for

Does that answer the question? I can respond to any question looking for clarification as long as they are asked in good faith.

The fact you think those people actually care

  41. BeautronJohnson Avatar

Are there examples of this happening and what are the details?

  42. jjb1718 Avatar

    🤣

    MAGA said:

They care about law and order and yet voted in a felon.

They care about the constitution yet support jailing federal judges.

They care about free speech yet bar NPR from entering the pentagon.

They care about the cost of living yet support the implementation of tariffs.

They care about the prevention of WW3 yet support threats to overtake Greenland or Canada.

And those are just SOME examples. I could name 5 for each one if I had the time.

  47. OldTatoosh Avatar

I am not in favor of deporting legal immigrants. That seems to be your question here, “who are going through the proper channels to get citizenship here.”

If however you mean people who broke the law by entering illegally, then no, it doesn’t bother me at all to deport them. If they have ties to gangs and also entered illegally, it doesn’t bother me to incarcerate them.

They can go through the proper channels in their country that’s what the remain in Mexico act did. I don’t want anyone who’s not a us citizen or on visa for tourism in my country. It’s super simple and shouldn’t be a political issue and it wasn’t until very recently.

I don’t know any instances of people going through proper channels getting deported. They’re reporting people that came here illegally then claimed asylum as far as I understand.

  60. yuukanna Avatar

My mother is a Trump voter. My brother-in-law is an immigrant. When my niece asked her grandmother why she supports Trump’s immigration policy, my mother lectured her 7 year old granddaughter that she likes immigrants fine but doesn’t want criminals here, etc.

Let’s just say my niece is very confused and my sister is pretty upset about the conversation.

Most of the Trump voters I know are just confused about why we say the things we do… they are in an information vacuum and haven’t heard real news in a long time, just the opinions of news entertainment.
