I 19 f sometimes take my top off to swim when no one’s home and when I did, it got sucked up into a vent and ruined the pool pump and it probably can’t get fixed right away and everyone is mad at me and calling me names now. My parents are po’d because I’m not allowed to swim like that and it’s going to cost some serious money to fix now, but it’s like 85°f today ffs
I guess the water can’t move around the pool now or get cleaned because the pump is broke, the strings on my bikini top wrapped around the pump fan and broke it.
I didn’t even realize until I couldn’t find my top and finally realized it got sucked into to the vent.
My parents were inside and my siblings weren’t home, I think I had a semi private moment to relax in the sun today, turns out I got extremely embarrassed and punished for a stupid moment I could of prevented, it’s completely my fault I been caught before and been in trouble for it, I should know better. I can’t even imagine how much it’s going to cost, and how long it will take. My siblings are super mad because they can’t swim now either because of me.
Hopefully i can pay them back by the end of summer though.
TL;DR : My bikini top got sucked into a vent and burnt out the pool pump

How do they not have skimmer baskets on their filter intake? Unless you are literally just wearing a string for a bikini top, this should not have been possible. I could see it burning up by trying to pull water through your bathing suit in the skimmer but that would have taken more than just an afternoon…
I’ll need to see pics to know how badly you f’ed up.
Edit: of the pool pump, you pervs.
I’m not sure 85 degrees necessitates taking off your top – I don’t think bikini tops are particularly warm – but regardless it is very strange there is no filter intake.
Its June 1st, there are 3 months of summer left. How could it not be fixed in 3 months?
This is a shit installation problem. Unless your top had fishing line for securing it to you, there should have been a skimmer or filter basket before the pump to prevent exactly this kind of thing.
Not entirely your fault because there are supposed to be screen covers to prevent this. Also, you’re 19 and allowed to do whatever you want with your body.
Its crazy that you think 85f means “too hot to wear a bikini top”. Its not a damn sweater. I promise you lots of people think it’s perfectly normal to wear a bikini top in 85f+.
Get a job and help pay for it. That’s the proper thing to do. If you insist on removing your bikini top next time, why not just set it on the edge of the pool, on the concrete?! O.o
Time to get a summer job
So your parents have told you not to do this, you did it anyway Apparently multiple times and have gotten punished for it previously.
You let your top float around in the pool until it got sucked in. Why didn’t you you leave it on the side of the pool instead?
Yes, you f’d up and damaged an expensive piece of equipment that isn’t yours.
Get a job and pay for the repairs?
