TIFU by doing a racism

So, I’d been thinking about doing a racism for a little while. I guess it went out of style but lately it seems to be coming back and sometimes I get caught up in current trends.

The only problem, everyone in my neighborhood is pretty nice except some of the whites, and I’m white so that presented a problem. The Sudanese who live across the street are extremely friendly are fun to hang with and the other blacks I know around here are cool too.

The Mexican family that lives a few doors down, I don’t know them real well but our kids go to school together and I see them most days at pick-up, say hi if we pass each other, they seem nice too. Not to mention my daughter’s boyfriend is half Mexican and he’s a decent dude.

My daughter is friends with one of the Vietnamese girls at school and has been to a sleepover at her house so that was out. At this point I was thinking I might have to look outside the neighborhood because we don’t really have anyone else nearby but that seemed like a lot of work.

So I was feeling kind of down and disincluded, not really in the greatest mood. I figured I’d let it go and find a new trend, maybe like listening to terrible music and pretending it’s good or wearing those oversized hats.

But just when I thought I’d moved on, my daughter and I were out in our back yard when my next door neighbor’s piece of yap dog gets out and bolts directly at us. He’s completely untrained and has bitten her before. I lost it and yelled “Keep that white trash dog out of our yard!!!”

It felt great to do a racism, even if it was against my own people, and another species for that matter. But the problem is, since it was in front of my daughter, now she calls that godforsaken mutt the “white trash dog” when talking to the neighbors on the other side, who have very nice dogs by the way.

DIFU by losing my cool and doing a racism, even if it was against my own race? Not to mention the poor dog who’s really not to blame for being untrained, that’s his owner’s fault.

TL;DR: Did a racism on my own race in front of my daughter.
