TIFU by flashing my therapist

r/

My therapist and I have been working together for two years. She’s amazing. Super chill. Zero judgment. Which makes this 10x worse.

I started doing virtual sessions from home, and last week I was running late. I threw on a hoodie, logged onto Zoom, and figured I’d just stay off camera until I had pants on.

Well. I forgot Zoom defaults to video ON.

I stood up halfway through the session to grab my notebook. Fully Winnie the Pooh-ing it. No pants. Just bare thighs and regret.

She went silent.

I realized a full two seconds too late, shrieked, and body slammed my laptop shut.

She texted later: “We all have vulnerable moments. Would you like to continue next week?”

I now overthink every outfit, every movement, and every session.

TL;DR: Forgot I wasn’t wearing pants during a virtual therapy session. Stood up on camera. Flashed my therapist.

Wait you are just walking around nude on your bottom half?

Your bodily functions come out of there and you are just rawdogging your computer chair?

Not alarming. You just showed your therapist your nuts.

    If you’re a guy.

what a remarkable response. instead of apologizing, I would thank her for handling that so professionally. 👌

Not to stress you out too much, but especially if you’re a man, I’d address this directly and make it very clear to your therapist that it was an accident. Clients will sometimes do this kind of thing intentionally and you obviously don’t want them to think that was the case.

But I’ll shoot you straight… come the fuck on. Don’t take Zoom calls with your genitals out. It’s not that hard to put on pants. You say Zoom defaults to the camera being on but then you say you stood up halfway through your session. So what does the default have to do with it if you weren’t wearing pants for ~25 minutes at that point? Being completely nude waist-down for a session is wildly inappropriate for a multitude of reasons. You can ask for a second, go throw on pants, and come back. Like I said, this kind of thing happens to therapists with some frequency because there are a lot of real creeps out there. Here’s hoping you’re not one of them.

Two possibilities. One – you’re so small she barely noticed. Two – you’re so big she liked what she saw.
