TIFU by gambling away my dad’s medicine money

This happened last night and I haven’t slept since.

My dad’s been sick for a while. Chronic condition, regular meds, not optional. He gave me $300 in cash to pick up his refills because his card wasn’t working and I live closer to the pharmacy.

I didn’t have time to go that day, so I held onto the money. Later that night, I deposited it into my bank account using a cash ATM, figuring I’d grab the meds first thing in the morning.

I got home, sat down for “a second” opened my laptop, and made the dumbest decision I’ve ever made.

I’ve been playing on this online casino site here and there. Nothing serious, just small bets to kill time. I told myself I’d toss in $20, maybe win a little extra, cover the meds and look like genius.

You can guess how that went.

$20 turned into $50, then $100. I keep chasing it. By the time I snapped out of it, the full $300 was gone.

I panicked. Tried calling a friend to borrow something, but no one could help right away. And I don’t exactly have people lining up to loan me money after this kind of screw-up.

The worst part? My dad’s expecting the meds by Monday. He’s counting on them, and he’s counting on me.

I’ve got nothing, No money no excuse that’ll make this okay. Just a whole lot of guilt and a rapidly shrinking window to fix what I broke.

I fucked up bad.
