A few months back I (30/F) had my first baby (5 months old), and as a Mother’s Day gift my mother wanted to take me to get a manipedi. I was super excited as I don’t typically get manipedis (I have an awful habit of picking at my nails/fingers) but enjoy them and the outcome of pretty nails and softer hands & feet.
Now they did the pedicure first, and for a pedicure you obviously need to remove your shoes; I took mine off and they gave me a pair of nail salon flip flops (https://www.amazon.com/Pedicure-Slippers-Disposable-Comfortable-Colors/dp/B089S9WM6J) and went to get my manicure done at a different table, picking up both my purse and my shoes.
After the manicure I went to pay, grabbed all of my stuff and drove home with my mom. Or at least I thought I did. Turns out I had left my shoes at the nail salon. I’d driven home in the nail salon flip flops, and with the salon closed (it closed as we were leaving) I had to wait until the next day to get my shoes back. I even remember looking at my sneakers and thinking ‘Better not forget those!’ They were my only pair of sneakers too π
tl;dr: Went to get a pedicure, literally forgot my only pair of sneakers at the nail salon and need to make the walk of shame back to the salon to get them back.

Dollars to donuts that this happens all the time. The staff have seen it all and weirder, and probably have an allocated box set aside for lost shoes.
My mother once forgot her debit card in the grocery scanner and had to go back; customer service guy asked βwhat color?β before whipping out a stack of lost credit cards like a blackjack dealer.
Ugh, that sucks. Iβve totally done something like this before. At least you had a good time at the salon, though! Hopefully, getting your sneakers back is just a minor inconvenience
How did you walk out through the parking lot without noticing? Didn’t your feet hurt?
