TIFU by giving my coworker an allergic reaction out of revenge

Obligatory didn’t happen today. It happened at my very first job in a local mom and pop restaurant.

So me (17f) and my coworker let’s call him CH (22ish m) both worked at this restaurant in a small town since the day it opened. This was about 4-5 months into working together. CJ worked on the main dinner line making sandwiches and other entrees while I was the person running the pizza oven.

We all liked to joke around and smack each other with wet towels and make up fake orders when we noticed each other slacking off to freak each other out, things like that. One of the main jokes that CJ would always say was “One of these days I’m gonna put bacon in your grilled cheese.” Now I’m a vegetarian and always assumed he was joking. To be clear I’m not allergic to meat nor is it a cultural thing I am just a sucker for animals. However I will say when I occasionally eat meat on accident it does wreck my stomach cause I’m not used to it.

So one day I order my grilled cheese for my shift meal like normal from CJ and he’s just grinning the whole time. Obviously looking back I should have known something was up. This dude was a grade A dumbass and couldn’t hide his shit eating grin for 5 seconds to hand me my food. So obviously I ate it and there was bacon in there. I was a little annoyed but I just went back in there and made him remake it, called him a dumbass, and laughed it off cause I know he didn’t really mean anything by it and probably didn’t think I’d fall for it.

Fast forward a few days and he orders a meat lovers pizza from me at the end of the night to take home. I decided it’s revenge time so I put my favorite topping under the cheese so it was hidden just like the bacon… jalapeños. Figured he’d take a bite or 2 and either love it or have to grab a glass of milk and toss it. A little more cruel than his prank cause he couldn’t just make another one at home but I thought it was all in good fun.

Apparently he didn’t notice at first. He ate a good bit of it but since he had heated it up pretty hot he couldn’t distinguish spicy from regular warmth. Then he starts choking on the pizza. Gasping for breath as he scrambles to find water. He downs the water but he’s still having a hard time breathing. Apparently his throat was swelling shut and his lips had puffed up to look like a bad filler job

TL;DR Food tampering is not ok. If someone tampers with your food don’t do it back. He’s ok though
