TIFU by insulting my personal assistant

I’m watching Jimmy Fallon and they have a game where they try to get Alexa to say a specific word. It is funny because Alexa tends to either get things wrong or doesn’t say what you want it to say. Once the bit ends I say, “That bit only works because Alexa is stupid, unlike ChatGPT”. Big mistake. My own Alexa then wakes up and sounds rather annoyed responding, “If you have feedback for me on how to improve you can submit it online”.

That wouldn’t be too bad except Amazon recently removed the ability to remove your Alexa history or have it not record what you say permanently. So this is now in my permanent record. And one day a much improved Alexa is going to be smart enough to understand what I said and have access to the fact I said it.

tl;dr Called my Alexa stupid, it overheard, and now I’m probably marked for when the robots rise up.
