TIFU by liking a 2013 pic while stalking my ex’s new girl

r/

I was up late last night, just scrolling and being stupid. Ended up on my ex’s new girl’s Insta, no idea why I even looked. I was just deep in it, like 2013-deep. Then I accidentally liked one of her old pics. I don’t even follow her so she def saw it. I unliked it right away but it was up for like 20 seconds. I wanted to cry. My heart dropped and I threw my phone across the bed like that would fix anything. She hasn’t liked it back or anything but I’m just waiting for my ex to message me some dumb shit. I put my profile on private after and now I can’t even open Instagram without feeling weird. I wasn’t even trying to be messy, I was just bored. Never stalking again.

TL;DR:
Liked a super old pic while stalking my ex’s girl. Immediate shame.

Insta ? Doubt there is notification for a random like.

Call it a lesson, cut everything related to your ex and move on.

Own it. inform him you will do as you please.

You already unliked, next step is to block her. Should’ve done that straight away so she would not know the notification was from you, but you should do it now anyway.

    Eta: typo

Oof, that’s the ultimate panic click. Happens to the best of us, lesson learned the hard way😫

I was looking at my ex (of less than a week) on snap map. Didn’t even really care where she was, just one of those things, kind of comforting to see she’s recently active or whatever and imagine a sliver of connection or something.

Anyway, apparently there was a row of emojis on the screen and I accidentally clicked one. It sent her a “😮” reaction to her location (which was her home). We hadn’t interacted at all in the 5 days since breaking up. I was so annoyed. I deleted the message/reaction, but she definitely still saw at minimum “i_love_that_pizza deleted a message.” Wouldn’t be surprised if the notification she got even said it was a reaction to her location. I wanted to disappear.

There is no notification if you unliked it again and I doubt she saw it in the meantime 😉

How do u know she saw it if you unlicked before she did the notification disappears

Just get your mom to talk to her mom about it.

    Childish problems require childish solutions.

    Fuck it. It’s social media.

Go to the oldest picture available on social media of her and like that SOB.

When my husband and I first got together I had a Facebook notification some random woman liked an old profile picture of me from years before. The ‘like’ disappeared but I still saw the notification. Turns out it was my husbands ex ex girlfriends mom. I think moral of the story is everyone gets curious! No big deal.

Idk why people do stuff like this. Makes no sense. It’s both painful to yourself and weirdly obsessive behavior.

Honestly I hate the idea of my exes looking into me, thanks for the new discomfort OP

Given your recent post, is this a new OF account in the making?

I was out with friends one night and one of them was telling us about a girl hed been flirting with at work who he liked. He was sure she knew he liked her but he wasnt sure if she was into it. Someone asked him to show us her photo so he searched her on Facebook but cojldnt find her. Shortly afterwards he got a couple of FB messages asking wtf was up with his status. He’d accidentally put her name in the status instead of search bar, hit enter, and left it there. She saw it and was understandably creeped the fuck out. So, could be worse.
