Blood and injury Warning

This happened a few days back, I was putting some heavy boxes away. While I was putting the last box away I lost my grip and the box slammed two of my fingers into the edge of a metal display. It was sharp and I thought I saw a small cut so I didn’t think much of it while I went to go grab a bandage.

My friend ran after me panicked telling me to hold my hand still as I’m bleeding everywhere. That’s when I realized how badly I had sliced my fingers. I’m not good with blood and if I think about it too much I go light headed. An unfortunate trait I inherited from my mother.

I was trying my best to stop the bleeding and nothing was helping. There is this sweet lady that works with me and as soon as she saw it, she quickly grabbed my fingers and applied first aid and was able to stop the bleeding.

Later it dawned on me how much I bled out, when I saw the stained counters and floors. My sweet friends didn’t let me do anything as much as I insisted that I’d clean it up. They made me leave as they took care of everything.

I came home and knew I had to change the bandages and I was nervous thinking I’d witness more blood so I took a deep breath and I did what I had to do. Thankfully it stopped bleeding and I was able to clean it up and that’s when I was able to see clearly why I bled so much. I took a deep cut to the cuticle on one finger, and another cut near the knuckle of my other finger.

Surprisingly it didn’t hurt as much as I thought it would and it’s healing well, but I learned a good lesson. This experience made me realize I have such amazing friends and coworkers.

TLDR: failed to get a good grip on a heavy box and resulted in slicing two of my fingers.
