I (16F) fucked up by not reading my online friend’s (18F) message, it started off by them saying that they were making out with their friend, then they went on by saying that they assaulted them afterwards. I had my attention split and didnt see the assaulted part and thought they were bragging about making out with someone. I jokingly said that I was jealous and then they blocked me immediately before i could apologise and explain that I didnt read the whole message. I feel really shitty right now and I wish I could go back and change it. They deleted their reddit so I cant go there to apologize. Please lmk if theres anything I could possibly do.
TL;DR I fucked up by not reading my friend’s vent. I accidently made it seem like I was jealous of them being assaulted.

Do you have mutual friends? Maybe you can ask them to explain and say sorry for you
Maybe they shouldn’t have reacted so drastically to something being said that was out of character. If they were your friend, why not even give you a chance to explain why you said what you said. Yes, you should’ve been more attentive but people make mistakes. Friends shouldn’t just cut friends out of their lives so carelessly.
Try as hard as you can to apologize, then move on. It’s terrible that happened to them, but if they won’t even hear you out over a simple mistake, what kind of person are they?
