TIFU by procrastinating on an assigment for school and now I am screwed

r/

There was this assignment for Monday. I wasn’t in school on Monday so I figured I would give it to the teacher after tomorrow’s lesson during which there is coincidentally an exam. Wrong. He sent us the correct answers today. I didn’t know he would do that. At all? I texted him, asking him what am I supposed to do. He clearly didn’t think that some people were missing that day or whatever.

Apparently, he will put MORE extra questions on the exam tomorrow for those who didn’t hand him the assignment, which seems like there were numerous people. He informed us about this only after I asked him this at 9 pm the night before the exam. I am screwed. I thought I would be taking a multiple-choice exam. I already didn’t understand what was going on as chemistry is literally my least favorite class and I don’t ever plan to do anything with it. I am sure 100% of my classmates used ChatGPT or something similar for the assigment because literally no one can do his homework or labs.

I am having a breakdown over this. I want this year to be over.

TL;DR: Accidentally didn’t do an assignment on time, I will probably fail an exam tomorrow.

hey, deep breath — seriously, you’re not alone in this. we’ve all put stuff off and had it blow up like this. sucks right now, yeah, but it’s not the end of the world. do your best tomorrow, even if it’s just damage control. one rough assignment or exam doesn’t define your whole year. you’ve got this. it’ll pass.

I’m a little confused. You were gone Monday, Today too? If you failed to turn in the assignment your test is longer?

communication is key. an email could have eliminated this situation.

Next time you should have emailed the moment you knew you wouldn’t be in on Monday and asked what you can do to get the work sent in on time. Teachers don’t tend to accept excuses after the fact as they seem like excuses to make up for not having it done on time.
