So, this happened earlier today, around 1/2am.
I am 5 months pregnant, and I’ve started sleeping with a pregnancy pillow. It’s the best thing since sliced bread. I’m actually able to sleep comfortably through the night most nights now, especially as I’ve gotten bigger. But, I’m still kind of restless some nights. Like last night.
I was tossing and turning a lot last night, and just couldn’t get comfortable. My husband stayed late in the living room, and I fell asleep in bed alone around 11PM, in my pregnancy pillow cocoon.
Now, around 1/2am, I remember barely coming to and feeling the need to turn again. All I remember before The Incident™ was sitting up in bed, barely conscious. As I turned over, I swung over my right arm towards my left side to brace myself….and I braced myself bringing my hand down onto the poor, innocent cheek of my darling sleeping husband. I immediately woke up the second my hand made contact with his cheek, and all I could say was “huh?”
He headed back to the living room for a few hours of slap-free sleep, before rejoining me at sunrise.
Sometime last year, he accidentally sleep-slapped me in the face. He sometimes has wild, involuntary movements when he sleeps, including flailing his arms. He fell asleep while we were cuddling, and he flailed his hand right into my face.
At least we’re even now.
tl;dr: I accidentally slapped my husband in the face at 1am this morning, trying to turn my pregnant-ass around in bed.

Sometimes the best we can hope for is slap-free sleep.
I hope you don’t punish yourself too hard. This was an accident and as long as he knows that, I think you two will be fine. Crap happens
Now if this was me, I would make a joke out of it. Aka, 10 days since I slapped you. But that only works if you have that relationship with him.
Lol! Not where I thought that was going based on the title. My husband has very vivid dreams. I have been kicked in the shin and thought, slapped on the face and arm and punched in my side boob. Side boob hurt the worst and woke me from a dead sleep. Good luck with two of you sleeping like that!!
“How can she slap?” – your husband probably.
My wife swears I started kicking at her legs like I was swimming one morning when she woke me up for work.
I have no recollection of this event. It happens.
Well this did not go in the direction I thought it would, lol. I hope y’all get some slap-free nights of sleep in the months to come before your little one arrives!!
Lmao I have done this and my partner never lets me forget it either. Rolled over half asleep and raised my arm and slapped the hell out of him right in the face
lol years ago my partner was dreaming about pushing one of those buttons that opens doors, that they install for wheelchair users. It wasn’t working, so they hit it several more times. Eventually they did it with their body and I woke up to a flat palm punch to the nose. Soooo startling.
I’ve accidentally punched my husband sleeping once by rolling over pulling my blanket with me and not realizing how close I was to him. I felt so bad. I feel your pain.
I guess the title should say “TIFU by slapping my husband.”. Makes more sense.
That doesn’t seem too bad. I would make light of it if possible
We got the sequel to The Slap, now it’s time for the baby to join in with a kick to the face for the finale!
Dude those pregnancy pillows are awesome.
that’s actually wholesome as fuck.
We were only married a few months I woke up super early for work, when I was ready to leave I kneeled on my side of the bed to lean over and kiss her, she rolled over and elbowed me in the mouth, putting my bottom teeth through my lip. Lots of blood and swelling. All the price for giving a goodbye kiss.
I love this story. It’s going to get worse in a better and funnier way. Wait till you have more humans…. Your good. Enjoy
My gf smacked me in the face while I was sleeping a few months ago and all I said was ” ungh ” and just kept sleeping. She’s always telling me I’m kicking her or hitting her in sleep but I have absolutely no recollection of it. I’m basically a Flailer in bed like a fish out of water
I kind of feel like accidental abuse is a relationship right of passage.
I read “sleeping with my husband” and “five months pregnant” and braced for impact. Glad it was something more benign.
Lmao misleading title
I had to stop wearing my wedding rings to bed. I’m an active sleeper. Diamonds hurt. Before getting a memory foam mattress, I yeeted him out of bed a couple times. I’ve yetted myself from bed.
So far, my physician is meh about my nocturnal habits. 🤷♀️😂
My dad had night terrors.. one night within my parents’ first year of marriage, he full force punched her in the face. Ever since any whimper in his sleep she woke his ass up.
Wild involuntary movements while sleeping is concerning. Does he have any history of sleep apnea?
Maybe somewhere down the line look to get separate beds in the bedroom. Or not.
I remember one night having a vivid dream where I was working in my kitchen at the restaurant I was working in at the time. I was trying to grab corn so I could add it to the pan for a dish I was making and I just could grab it. My hand went through it and I was getting angrier and angrier.
I was then shocked awake to the screams of my then fiancée as she screamed “baby baby your having a bad dream and you grabbed me by the face and are crushing my eye” and ever since things are “tense” until I’m settled in.
I hate those pregnancy pillows. I got one for my wife 7 years ago when she had a big belly and she’s still using it. But now it’s to box out the kids and keep her sleep kick free. I now get all the kicks.
I straight up elbowed a guy right in the eye when waking up once.
He went from dead asleep to screaming pain in a heartbeat.
Happens. My husband fixes computers in his sleep. He once nailed me a good one in the tit demanding I print.
This did not go at all how I was thinking.
My husband and I have hit each other in our sleep over the years. Pretty sure he’s elbowed me as well.
My kid used to roll over and slap me in the face with the back of her hand when she was younger. One time when she was about 4 and was sleeping next to me, I dreamed I was fighting someone off and hit her full-on in the face. I felt absolutely awful about that one but fortunately it wasn’t hard enough to bruise or anything.
My wife has punched or kicked me on occasion when my snoring gets super bad. I think it’s mostly an almost sleep reflex to her. (like, I can count on one hand the times over the last decade, she’s not abusing me by any means). But the last time I guess I was facing her, snoring right in her face and I wake up to a pain in my chest and see the shadow of her arm drawing back and then she rolls over. I was like “what the fuck?” But she was already passed back out. Could she have been wide awake losing her shit because she couldn’t sleep? Maybe. Do I feel bad? Definitely. I’m on an active weight loss journey, and definitely don’t eat dinner anymore because I learned if I eat to late I tend to snore pretty badly.
I actually ended up losing a front tooth because my dear sweet man accidentally headbutted me so hard when I was trying to give him a kiss on the forehead it got loosened to the point the nerve got infected and died.
That sleep discombobulation can be real harsh 🤣😭
Don’t feel too bad. My ex damn near broke my nose while repositioning. We had a good laugh about it after the fact.
One night, around 3am, I felt a hand feeling all over my face, and woke with a start. Clamoring for the light I ask, “What, what, what?!?” Wife says rather panicked, “Just checking to see if you were still breathing!!!”
She lays back down and goes right back to sleep. I’m fully awake.
Apparently she was dreaming that I had stopped breathing or was dead or something.
Genetic nyquil will make my husband suuuuper horny, like “wake up out of a dead sleep and grab me and just try to start fucking me (mostly fine but also I’m trying to sleep so I’m like uhhhh bro? But it’s not upsetting in a rapey way, I like sex!)
Last year he woke up in the middle of the night as I was drifting off and he reached over, and sort of fumbled around my mouth and STUCK HIS THUMB IN MY MOUTH, and I was confused so I sort of sucked it seductively (???) and that was it, he just flopped his arm down, and he basically asleep. I mentioned it to him the next morning and he had ZERO recollection of it happening, and we cracked up in bed the next morning when I asked him what the hell he was trying to do 😹
My ex was also a sleep flailer. I once was clotheslined awake
It’s fine, wait until the kid is 2 and sleeps with you. Slaps are the least of your worries!
I’ll settle for a slap occasionally… My wife has a tendency to bring her knees up during sleep… It’s gotten me in the family jewels a few times.
It’s hilarious, but not a fuck-up
Didn’t read all the comments…
Nothing to be excused or a f**k up IMHO…
Sounds like a missed opportunity for some sloppy fun…
Source: dad with two kids and can’t get the wife more pregnant than she already is…
/// In the middle of a few rums and maybe misread post… But just my first thought….bedtime touching of any kind including slaps is enough to sometimes trigger more 🙂 I guess I just liked like closeness while our life unfolds in a new way…
I did this once when I was younger with my then girlfriend.
The bad news is that it made me wake up more each time I need to roll over l, which is frequently.
If you’re like me you will only get worse sleep from now on.
I wish for a slap ..my wife sleeps with her arms up , I’ve copped forearms and elbows … 😂
I straight up elbowed my husband in the eye a few weeks ago and he had a bruise.
Sleeping with other people is a hazard sometimes. 🤣
I sleep slapped myself in the face last night. Scared the shit out of me!
A few years ago I got a concussion and the doctor told my husband to wake me up a few times throughout the night. At one point, I was sleeping with my arm above my head so he sleepily (and accidentally) poked me in the armpit to wake me up. Two things about me: I hate being tickled and I wake being woken up. So I’m sure you could imagine the instant rage I felt when I was woken up by someone tickling my armpit. I full on SWUNG at him. Like the back fist JWow threw at Mike in that one Jersey Shore episode. Luckily I missed, otherwise he probably would’ve also ended up with a concussion.
At least you’re even 😅
My other half wakes up swinging every now and then. Luckily, they haven’t hit me yet.
Honestly as a fellow pregnant lady, he can deal lol. Sleeping while pregnant is a battle and a half
I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed
I read the title as u clapped your husband …
If it makes you feel better, the 1st time I spent the night with my now husband. I had never slept with anyone before so I punched him a little in my sleep. He blamed tmj for his jaw not working the next day.
I got better I promise! I only punch him on purpose now (sparring not dv).
He’s been miraculously cured of tmj for over a decade.
I read the title and thought to myself… you wouldn’t happen to be Nancy Gribble, would you
This story slaps. But it does not clap.
I’ve gotten an elbow in the eye now so many times that it’s a running joke.
Why did I keep reading the time as “half AM”? 😭
Don’t feel bad, a few months ago I was sleeping with my gf and dreamt she cheated on me, got pregnant and expected me to be fine with it. I accidentally punched her in the back in my sleep. The jerky movement woke me up, I realized what happened and decided I needed to get up and leave the room. Luckily she didn’t wake up. Told her what happened in the morning and she looked at me like I’m an idiot because I know and she has said repeatedly she doesn’t want kids. Also I know she wouldn’t cheat on me so the dream was just weird for that.
I want 3 min of my life back
If it helps you. I cursed out people who woke me from sleep. But I don’t remember it lol
You won the best click bait title this month!!
Well, I kneed my husband in the balls while I was asleep. And have dropped my hand on his face a couple of times. We have a queen size bed and 2 cats that also share that space with us haha!
The clickbait-ist title out there.
melatonin
My pregnancy pillow was the best purchase I made during pregnancy. Funny enough I hated it as soon as I had my baby because it was only comfy when I was pregnant. I still think about those nights of being in my pillow cocoon and how comfy it was.
I was once woken up by an elbow in the face. My partner was woken up by the feeling of crunching cartilage under her elbow.
Anyone else waiting for the pin to drop while reading this and was pleasantly surprised?
If only this level of drama was notable in my life. I envy your peaceful existence.
I recommend hockey goalie masks for the both of you.
Can anyone tell me why so mamy cultures make spouses sleep in the same bed? In my home its only when youre “doing the tango” do you sleep in the same bed as your spouse…
My wife slapped me in the chest in the middle of the night once when we first got married because I made her mad in a dream. Another time in the middle of the night, she woke me up to switch sides of the bed because it just made sense that way to her at the moment. We still laugh about both incidents today.
My poor wife calls me a “fish flomper” I’m the most aggressive sleeper. All over the place. I have kneed, elbowed, and slapped her a few times in my sleep. I feel so bad. Can’t believe she hasn’t elected to go the twin bed route yet and put a little space between our beds. She’s such a gem
My husband once full on punched me in my back once in a dead sleep. It didn’t really hurt but was so very shocking. He didn’t remember a damn thing.
I dated a girl who used to “accidentally” face-slap me when I snored too loud
My husband has RLS. It was like sleeping with Hong Kong Fuey. Now it’s separate beds but they are pushed together
My man and I watched John Wick 4 and i ended up elbow dropping him in his sleep, we like have sleep fist fights I swear 😭😂
I apparently put my hubby in a headlock and punched the heck out of him, I never woke up so can only take his word for it.
Sleeping next to my wife, I had a dream I was fighting, not just fighting but fighting for my life. In my dream, I ended up behind my opponent and was going for the kill. I had him on his knees about to rip his jugular out. As I began to tear at his throat, my wife screamed, and I woke with my hand grasping my wife’s jugular. No one was hurt, thankfully, but it was weird for her to sleep next to me for a while
I had a restless night one night and elbowed my wife in the face. Woke up from a dead sleep to a crying wife and her sobbing out a “What did I do?”
It’s been 5 years, she still brings it up. I’ll be apologizing till I’m in my grave.
When my son was about 5 he came to the room to wake me up by gently touching the back of my neck. I woke up to him crying because when I rolled over completely asleep I punched him square in the face.
About thirty years ago my husband broke his right arm when he totaled my car while in Chicago (another story) and came home in a cast. About three in the morning he stretched out that arm and whacked me in the left eye.
I did not know until then how painful a black eye could be, nor how hard it would be to convince EVERYBODY in my organization that no, my husband didn’t beat me and having to tell the story to everyone who asked about my great big ol’ shiner.
Looking back I’m grateful that my coworkers were so concerned but at the time it was just embarrassing as hell.
Ah that’s nothing, I’ve sparta kicked my husband out of bed at least a few times a year since we’ve shared the same bed. Which started back in 2018. He’s come to learn that sometimes I’m a violent sleeper.
Pregnant ass? I thought doing in the ass was meant to prevent pregnancy.
Ha ha
One time my wife accidentally punched me in the nose as she turned in her sleep. It was more irritating than painful but it’s actually become really funny over time. Hopefully your sleep slaps end up something you can both laugh at one day.
One night my wife’s grandpa rolled over in his sleep and smacked her grandma right in the nose breaking it. He spent the next twenty years sleeping in the couch.
This is not how I interpreted the title 🤣
I sleep with a full body pillow all the time. My husband and I refer to it like it’s a person, ‘Huggy’, who interferes with his starfishing across the bed and increasing my sleep happiness by a billion percent.
I honestly thought that you were going to say that he stole your pregnancy pillow, because when my wife had our babies I straight stole that shit every chance I had.
My husband has restless legs syndrome, which is more like restless body syndrome. He takes medication for it, but if he runs out or forgets, he can flail. He’s smacked me inadvertantly by unconsciously throwing his arm across the bed before. It’s not the most enjoyable wake up.
Be careful our youngest is almost 6 and my fiance still uses a pregnancy pillow and says she can’t sleep well without one
Years ago while working crazy retail hours, I once, in the dead of night and a deep sleep, shoved my husband(then fiancée) aside and yanked his pillow out from under his angelic sleeping head to then “scan it and ring him up for it” as one does. He still married me so I think you’ll be forgiven too lol
I accidentally slapped my wife in the boob once while asleep. Her startling awake made me wake up
