TIFU When my bluetooth automatically connected to my mum’s car

r/

19F. I live at home (after a series of unfortunate circumstances) with my mother, my siblings and my boyfriend.
Lots of context to how I got into the fuck up:
My boyfriend and I have had an intimacy dry spell for a while since he is having physical issues, so we have formulated a system of me taking care of my needs (if I want to) when he goes to work, since our entire space is a tiny bedroom.
Our bedroom shares a wall with the garage, and recently my mother purchased a brand new car with all the bells and whistles, including bluetooth. She saved a long time for this and it is a huge upgrade from the previous car, which was so old it didn’t have automatic windows let alone built in bluetooth.
Previously when taking it out for a spin I had connected my phone to the car, for music purposes of course.

This set of circumstances leads to today, when my boyfriend left for work and I am (home alone!) taking care of things, with online recorded video aid.
I had my headphones connected to my phone incase anyone came home, and all was well. Then, all of a sudden my sound cut out. I turned up the volume, turned my ringer on and off, all without pausing the video. I assumed maybe my headphones died or lost connection, so went to check my bluetooth settings. Nope!
My phone had connected to my mum’s car, as she had arrived home (which I didn’t hear) and pulled the car into the garage.
Honest to shit my stomach dropped and I have not stopped feeling sick since. I can only pray that maybe all it did was connect and that she didn’t hear anything but, slim chances. I’m just going to sneak out at night and never return, probably.

TL;DR: I was watching a risky video at home alone when my mum pulled up in her car and my phone automatically connected to her bluetooth.

Is there any way for her to know it was your phone that connected to it? If not, then if she says anything, just talk about how some folks play pranks like this where they connect their phones to random unprotected bluetooth connections and play all sorts of sounds. I think there are some videos online to convince her of this.

This story lacks huge context without the video. Please post the link to the risky video, OP.
