I need to get my mile and a half time down by 1-1.5 minutes in about 5 weeks. I currently run a 15-15:30 mile and a half and a 9:25-9:30 mile. I need to get at least a 14 minute mile and a half, but obviously want to get the best time I can. I’m 5’11, and 210 pounds so I’m trying to lose a little weight by the time the test is. Do you think this is possible in 5 weeks? And what should I be doing every week to get to this time? I think on the day of the test I’ll have more motivation running with other recruits and go a little faster, but I want to be confident about passing before going. I’ve been running for about 3 months now, starting out with C25K.
