[TOMT] Book, only remember the cover.

I only remember small bits and the cover.
The cover was black, and had a drawing of outlines almost in different colors. It was of a car swerving down a road at night, with it having two people in it, a kid and a man. The story was non-fiction and was about a kid growing up with his mom and his abusive step dad, who was a native. One big scene was of him planning on running away with his friend who he started having gay feelings for, but changed his mind last minute.
