The scene is similar to the brief animation in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows where the story of the deathly hallows is being explained. It’s so similar but has a lot of yellow tones and browns. It’s something about a father going off to war or falling ill and then the story (I think) then goes on to be about his kid (can’t remember if it is male or female) and then someone is evil. Very limited info so sorry, if someone figures out what movie I will be very surprised but so relieved.

Without having an actual scene to give you. Kinda of sounds like the plot of Lemony Snicket .
Edit- might have been the mom dying and there being an evil stepmom situation but not sure. This is definitely a movie targeted to kids or younger teens
