[TOMT] Ending to a movie or perhaps TV detective show with late 60s/early 70s vibe to it?

2 men argue about who is going to confront the villain who is on a remote ski resort only reachable by ski lift. The man who wins the argument jumps on the ski lift but is shot by the unseen villain before he can get off it with his corpse going around and around on it in a positively macabre manner. The second man follows him but jumps off before he can be shot and struggles with the villain who then falls to his death. A bunch of gendarmes led by a plainclothes detective then turn up having been phoned by the ski-lift operator and demand to know what is going on?
