[TOMT] [Flash animation, early 2000s] Creepy animation about a little girl who’s sister(?) is a monster/vampire who breaks into her house and hunts her down. circa 2006

Hey there! I’ve been trying to hunt down an animation that scarred me for a few years as a child.

This would have been in the mid 2000s, around ‘05 or ‘06. I was visiting a friends house and they showed me a website that was essentially just a directory of different flash files (games and animations). there were no thumbnails, just hyperlinks with file names. This is where the animation in question was shown to me.

I’ll try to lay out everything I remember to the best of my ability

A young girl, probably around 10 years old, is laying in her bed in the middle of the night and is awakened by some sounds outside of her house, possibly the sound of a car pulling up or the door closing. I remember her looking out of her window to see a car outside, anyway.

She is frightened, and goes to wake her parents. Either in the hallway on the way to the parents room or within the parents room is a family photo depicting the young girl with both parents along with another older girl, presumably her sister. Upon entering her parents room, she is unable to get them to wake up. I’m unsure if it’s because they were just being dismissive or if they were dead, but the girl then chooses to hide in a closet at the end of the hallway. The closet door has slats, so she can peek through it. Through the slats, she sees what appears to be the older girl from the photo crawling around on the ceiling like a contortionist, emerging from the darkness and slowly approaching her.

I can’t remember what happens after this. As a child I had a tendency to cover my eyes when I was frightened and I believe that’s what I did here, so I don’t think I have ever actually seen the ending.

I would describe the art style as “mature”. It was definitely going for realism and wasn’t very cartoony, but it was still somewhat stylized. The quality of the animation was actually quite good from what I remember, especially for the era. The entire short had a dark, washed out blue-grey color palette.

I’m really hoping this will ring a bell for someone here, I’ve been searching for this for years but I don’t really have much to go off of aside from a vague plot outline. This scared the snot out of me as a 6-7 year old, so it would be really cool to revisit it almost 20 years later and finally see the ending.
